Do we have more sex when the sun is shining?
From now on, you'll never look at a barbecue the same way. Or that bottle of sunscreen. Because these items are equivalent to a wild sex life.
With sunny weather, we tend to have sex more often, it turns out. And not just a little bit. Gone are the days of slow once-a-week simple missionary. Monthly sex ‘because it has to happen’? No, no, not when it's sunny. We have a whopping 12 percent more sex when the weather is nice.
This is mainly because we all have more energy when it's pleasantly sunny. The days are longer, so we don't have to trudge off to bed exhausted at nine o'clock. We actually have the desire for ten. And we have the energy for it. It's still not dark for a long time in the summer, so why would you go to sleep? You can still do so many fun things. June, July, and August are therefore our proven top months between the sheets.
It's not just due to the extra energy. We also become happier from beautiful days with sun and even more sun. Daylight causes us to produce more happiness hormones, which in turn leads to a higher libido. Yes, really, this applies to both men and women. Plus: with nice weather, we go outside more. We do more fun things together. Going to a terrace together, pouring down one rosé too many together, eating by the water just because we can... That strengthens the whole love bond. Because let's be honest: lying on that couch under that cat blanket gets boring after all those winter times. And boredom doesn't lead to enthusiastic punanis.
In short, we are happy that it's summer and that there are still some lovely sunny days ahead. After all, it's only May, can you imagine? Bikini on, beach tent in, and diving into that bed together on time. Because before you know it, it's boring, sexless November again...
