Een ananas per dag houdt de zorgen weg

‘Well Kiek, what are these fun pineapples in your bag?’ ‘Yeah, no, right Lil… That was a surprise. An Aruba surprise,’ sighs Kiki. ‘It’s a lucky charm,’ I conclude somewhat nervously. I hang it on my suitcase, that brings luck, right? Now I hear you thinking: on your suitcase? Isn’t that a waste? Your suitcase that goes into the luggage compartment and not much later gets dropped with a thud on the conveyor belt? You have a point. But Kiek smiles sweetly and says: ’Just hang it on your suitcase, Lil, good idea.‘ She knows I’m not great at the airport and an eleven-hour flight doesn’t really help with that, but my pineapple charm does, you understand.

Now, exactly a week later, our keychains lie next to each other. They not only look super cool and organized, but it also gives a warm feeling. It reminds me of Aruba, the mango smoothies by the pool, the flamingo selfies, every day standard giggles, something with an iPhone in Oranjestad, our ‘let’s just go for it’ moments and looking at each other at exactly the same moments, thinking and understanding. Our keychains. It’s a small gesture with a big effect. Dear Kiek, thank you dushi.
