Givenchy presents the very first plus-size couture dress ever
During the InStyle Awards, we saw her walking by for the first time: a stunning couture creation from Givenchy for actress Rebel Wilson's body. And now you might think: an actress in a couture piece during an award ceremony, not necessarily a big deal, right? Well, it is. And that has everything to do with the size. It is an extra large size and that makes it the very first plus-size couture dress ever.
The black knee-length dress, black-and-white high heels, and glasses dipped in diamonds: it was an all-over look from Givenchy. No wonder there was a special thank you from Rebel to the creative director of Givenchy afterwards. Rebel posted on Instagram: “First she made Meghan Markle's wedding dress, now this fantastic black lace dress for me. The glasses and heels are also handmade pieces from the fashion house. This past weekend was a fashion dream come true.” Whether Givenchy will come out with more plus-size creations is not known, but the beginning is there: Rebel's fashion dream. You go, girl.
