Good news: this bizarrely popular Disney movie is getting a sequel

We have good news for all green monster fans, because Shrek is back. And oh my god, it’s going to be fun and a party in the cinema again. The creators want to make a sequel with mainly Puss in Boots in the lead role. So it’s going to be a new Shrek movie, or a brand new Puss in Boots installment. The cast will probably remain the same, with Mike Myers as Shrek, Antonio Banderas as Puss In Boots, and good old Eddie Murphy as Donkey.

And of course they want Cameron Diaz back as Shrek's wife, Fiona. But that will be difficult, because Cameron has said goodbye to her career in Hollywood. Did we already know that? She has stopped everything related to acting. Uh, okay. What a shame. A little kink in the cable then. But hey, they will surely figure it out. And fans of the ochre are still there, and that’s the most important thing.

Creator Chris Meledandri still has some doubts about the new installments: ‘There is still plenty of fun to think of for that world, but the bar is set high. You want to find something that extends the existing work, but also adds something to it.’ Well, we can’t wait, you understand that. Nice nostalgia and a lot of humor, bring it on.
