How often do we thirty-somethings check our phones
I always take my phone with me when I go grocery shopping, even though the Albert Heijn is across the street from my house and even if I'm back within four minutes, I still won't go without it.
Idiot. Who still walks on the street without texting, snapping, or calling in between... Is old-fashioned. Your mobile is your buddy. Your best friend. Your route, your social life, your work, your flirts, your shops, and your mother with advice all in one; everything is in that thing. We can't go half a day without it. I can't even do grocery shopping without it. You go to bed with it, you wake up with it. We are addicted.
It has been proven. Thirties check their phones 200 times a day. Incredible. Do you know how often that is? That's every 7.2 minutes. So you pick up your mobile every seven minutes of the day. To text, snap, and send selfies. I remember that I once had a Blackberry (in a distant past, with that little ball to scroll) and that I said: ‘I don't need WhatsApp, everyone I know has Ping.’ The most used app worldwide is of course WhatsApp, followed by Facebook and Facebook Messenger. Instagram is in fourth place and Snapchat in fifth.
Interestingly, Uber then joins the rest - even more popular than YouTube. We all need an Uber from time to time. Because even though we may be trendy thirty-somethings with phones left and right, we remain lazy people who don't want to bike in the rain. Are you crazy. That white wine we drink on Friday night with dry hair. Otherwise, we can't take good selfies, capiche?
