4 tips for the most Instagrammable vacation photos

Vacation photos, I find it a bit of a thing. You don't want to keep pushing your camera into your loved one's hands, but hey, when you get back you definitely want to share those 1300 perfectly styled pictures with la familia and your friends.

Huawei has come up with something for that. Two weeks ago, I boarded a plane to Ibiza to learn all about photographing the perfect vacation snapshots. Yes, I thought it was a great location too. A hundred times the same picture is a thing of the past, because Huawei taught me how to take the photos to frame in just a few simple steps. With. A. Smartphone. How ideal is that?

It starts with a good camera. I use the Huawei P20. Forget lugging around big cameras, because this phone has a dual camera with a whole lot of modes. The Huawei P20 sees the light in the room and automatically adjusts the settings. And remember those blurry night shots? They have a function for that, so those blurry practices are a thing of the past.

Four tips from the pros at Huawei that will make your vacation photos instantly Instagrammable:

1. Oehlala sunset

You know it: the sunset is vavavoom, but on your screen, the sun looks like a ping pong ball. Photographer Justin Sutcliffe shares the trick: photograph the sun precisely as it disappears below the horizon. The colors will pop on your screen, and the folks back home will be jealous.

2. Nighty night

You haven't been to Ibiza if you haven't pulled an all-nighter in a fancy club with a gin and tonic in both hands. Too bad the hangover comes with about thirty blurry photos. Think of it as an anti-hangover tip, because with the night filter on, your shots will be much sharper.

3. Burst it, baby

The secret to capturing moving images is burst mode. Try making a splash and capturing it well. It almost never works, and you end up looking like a drenched cat. Press the button for a longer time, and a hundred photos will pop up in your camera roll. Success guaranteed.

4. The holy grail

As a photographer for Amayzine, I take pictures of the most fun women every day for our Look of the Day. What’s important? The person and clothing should be central, and a blurry background is nice. You can do it with the phone. Set it to ‘Apture mode‘ and focus on what you want to highlight. The background becomes blurrier, and it looks like you have a professional photographer running after you all day. It's just that poor friend.
