If you want to watch skating during your work

Okay, not everyone is fanatical about the Olympics (evidence 1: Kiki's story about Ireen Wüst) but there are a number of people who have marked the races in their calendars and are noting lap times and such. I belong to the half-fanatics (I know when the races are) and make sure to find Annick in time to help me with all the contenders and lap times and who needs to skate in which round. Usually, we watch via NOS live, but then the phone rings in between. Or you have colleagues who really don't care and are standing next to you talking about dog/cat/kid.

You don't want that either. Just as little as they can tolerate our screaming when Wüst is winning gold while they are closing a business deal on the phone. Anyway. Problem. Little one. So a solution. On Tuesday, we headed to the Holland Heineken Hoek. That's the Holland Heineken House, but just here in Amsterdam. There you find the better Orange feeling. A big screen, beer (0.0 for us because we have to work) and other people who are just as into skating as you are. Cheering.

And the nice thing about these Games is that most races are held around lunchtime. And lunch, you have to do that anyway. So off we go to the Holland Heineken Hoek. Soon the race that you must/will and want to see. The 10,000 meters men. I'm there, you know. Are you coming too?
