Just about the sex frequency

and why we only do it three times a month

Shocking news: Dutch people have sex no more and no less than three times a month. Or well, shocking... If this is the national average, then we are probably not so out of our element together.

Recently, with much fanfare, the excellent figure of at least two times a week was released, a nice score for such a straightforward people, it now appears from research by the researchers at Knowledge Center Rutgers that Dutch people do not have sex that often at all. 17,000 respondents bared their bottoms and voilà, three times in one month it is. But, small disclaimer... Not all of these people are in a relationship. That brings the average down quite a bit. On the other hand, a large part is on Tinder, which keeps the libido and the sex frequency high.

The reason we don't lie together between the sheets, on the kitchen counter, or in the back of the car as often has to do with one thing: social media. Instead of diving into each other, people mainly dive into their phones before going to sleep. Apparently, your sex drive goes straight out the window. And the lack of time is also a significant downer in the lower regions.

Twice a week sounds like a nice goal, but often that is even too much. Now I hear someone next to me shouting that you just have to crawl on top of each other every day (by the way, this was a woman), or at least every other day. Sexologist Eveline Stallaart does not agree with that; she actually advises only three times a month. Something about quantity and quality, which you can also question.

Twice a day, every other week on Monday, every week? Whatever you do, do it.
