May-Britt Mobach
My daughters find this skirt ‘a bit strange’. As if I were working in a restaurant. Hence the tray in the photo. I comfort myself with the thought of the great Harriet Calo, who says that fashion is only truly successful when others just don't understand it. Even my daughters don't, then. Later they will understand that it's by Dries Van Noten and therefore good. And that the shirt isn't from dad (they ask every time), but from a small French brand called Laurence. And that I wear it on the day that life says goodbye to Laurence Hembert, the mother of all Marie Claires, is no coincidence. I will remember her and wish her a safe flight up where her son, who died far too early, is surely waiting for her with a nice white Burgundy, the region and wine she loved so much. If you want to know where I got those cozy fun fur cuffs, my answer is at Pauw Amsterdam, but again at the Heemstede branch. The place to celebrate fashion.
