Lynn's December month in euros
Last week I filled out my cash book for the first time. I plan to involve you all this entire December month in the ups and downs of the hole in my hand. Okay, I'm exaggerating, because there was a little curl behind the final balance from last time. The damage was then €155.45, an amount I can also settle after an hour at Ikea if I intend to only get an Allen key.
It's good to mention that my status as a couch clochard is still unchanged. During the week, I sleep on the couch at a friend's place in Amsterdam, and on the weekends, I go to Veldhoven and crash at my parents'.
Alright, I'll pick it up again where we left off last week.
Saturday, December 8
- My Spanish nephew was in town, so I spent the whole day crafting dragons with him. In the evening, we were invited for a dinner at my aunt's.
- My foundation breathed its last, so I bought it again in between: True Match by L’Oréal Paris: €16.99 (Kruidvat).
Sunday, December 9
My dear grandma turned eighty and treated us to a birthday lunch.
After that, hop hop back to Mokum. Bus, train: €14.
Monday, December 10:
When this article goes online, both of my lottery tickets will have unboxed their Sinterkerst gifts, so what I bought for them can be out in the open.
Girlfriend lottery ticket
Out of the house with Jet: €22.50 (De Bijenkorf)
Amayzin lottery ticket
Alpaca sticker sheet: €2.50 (De Bijenkorf)
Madonna crosses and a (sales) tiger for the ears:
€18 (Gekaapt, Kinkerstraat)
Then treating my Major Boszhard friend who temporarily adopted me at Terpentijn: truffle and parmesan fries, burrata, and a Caesar salad: €37.00.
Tuesday, December 11:
I went back and forth to the NIKKIE event I was invited to. Furthermore, I also include the rest of all tram/bus/metro costs for convenience that I incurred this week: €14.30.
Wednesday, December 12:
- My intention was not to do this anymore, yet I couldn't help myself and sought out the art sun on Wednesday. Sunflower: €11.80.
- Vodafone also came to collect its money: €49.31.
Thursday, December 13:
- After a pajama shoot in Abcoude and a cheese fondue at Amayzine, we went to the movie All You Need Is Love (1 star). Popcorn and water – to wash down the skins – are included: sweet/salty popcorn and Chaudfontaine: €5.95.
- I bought a little something at HEMA for my Salvation Army friend who provides me shelter and who has her birthday on Friday: chocolates, candle holder, card: €6.75.
- The real gift is, of course, still to come.
Friday, December 14:
Back to the south for surprise night number 2, with my lovely girlfriends. Train and bus (without 40% discount) €21.
Final balance:
€220.10. I increasingly wonder how I used to get through the week easily with €50 (okay, I was twelve then, but still). And I'm also curious if €220 per week in my situation is generous, normal, or minimalist.
Till next week.
