Taking a real long trip?
These are the places that are most appreciated
Traveling is the new cocaine. It starts off small and innocent, but before you know it, you're knee-deep in it and can't live without it. You experience withdrawal symptoms when your drug is not nearby. That stuff is actually really dangerous. It starts with short weekend getaways and city trips before you know it, you're addicted. Then you expand to adventurous trips outside of Europe and things get really serious.
Do you also have the urge to spread yourself like an oil slick across the world map? Hi. Welcome to Team Traveljunk. The further, the better. So today it's time to see how things stand with the most popular long-distance destinations of the moment. Travel review site 27vakantiedagen looked at more than 11 thousand detailed reviews and what turns out? These are the long trips that the Dutch are currently enjoying the most.
1. Australia
2. Thailand
3. South Africa
4. Mexico
5. Nepal
Australia receives an average rating of 8.8 across all five assessed aspects: Culture & attractions, Nature, Hospitality, Beaches, and Food. It's just that the flights are such a pain, otherwise I would have packed my suitcase this week. The land down under is especially praised for its immense variety. From Thailand, our travel hearts also seem to beat faster as the country follows closely with an average of 8.7. Thailand receives a 9.0 for food, the highest score of all. (AND YES, I GET THAT...) South Africa scores a remarkable 9.6 for its ‘stunning nature’ in third place. Mexico also gets an average of 8.7 and is most loved for its culture & attractions. Nepal tops the list, mainly due to the mountains, friendliness of the locals, and beautiful Nepalese culture. Since the success of the Netflix series Narcos, there have also been noticeably many trips booked to Colombia.
So you know what to do: hurry up, 2018 will be your year. Go out and collect passport stamps!
