May and her Gucci's

If my Gucci bottles could talk... They can't, so I'll just do it. The most beautiful memories. Gucci Rush was my buddy in my mid-twenties and no perfume could have suited me better. It was a rush, my life. Editor-in-chief of a daily TV program, vacations to Ibiza with my best friend A, weekends to Paris just-because-I-felt-like-it, smoking because it was charming and you stayed so nicely thin from it... In all my adventurous days, the pink cassette was always in my bag.

Then came Flora. By now, I was (after many detours and side paths) editor-in-chief of Marie Claire. Whether I wanted to go to Florence for a new Gucci perfume, and whether I wanted to stay at the Four Seasons there. By the way, I danced in between, the room was that big. And whether I wanted to have dinner with Frida Giannini, the predecessor of Alessandro Michele, I should say. Flora appeared in six variants and was a reference to Gucci's rich history. The Flora print was once found on a bag that was specially made for Grace Kelly in the seventies and later adorned many dresses. Frida let the floral print lead in her new perfume and made six variants of it. How happy I was in my hotel room. Bathrobe (thick, THICK) on, room service breakfast, laptop open and a view of six bottles of Flora, looking forward to an interview with model Abbey Lee Kershaw and a visit to the Gucci museum. By the way, I learned there that Guccio Gucci was not a famous jockey or anything else in horse sports, but a lift boy in an expensive hotel in London. There he saw that the ‘well to do’ people had a lot to do with the equestrian theme, hence he designed suitcases and bags with equestrian references and thus the bit, the girth, and so on.

Meanwhile, many Gucci descendants have been brought into the world. Gucci Bamboo (referring to the Bamboo bag, which Grace Kelly also owned), Gucci Guilty (delicious), Gucci by Gucci (by the way, the first perfume that appeared under Frida Giannini) and of course Gucci Bloom which is our editorial perfume. It remains difficult to describe a perfume but believe me, Bloom is so fresh and clean that when you wear it, you get approached at least five times a day. Positively.

My latest love? Gucci Guilty Absolute Pour Femme. Smells like summer meadows and blueberries. I got a travel flask of it, so she travels with me. On to adventures and beautiful memories. Cheers.
