May has been in a relationship for 9 months
And this is what she has learned from it
Yes, in ‘real life’ I have been in a relationship for 18 years, but there is a new love added: my tiny, cute, tidy Twingo. We have been together for nine months now and I wanted to share with you what I have learned from it.
1. Economical
It drives so wonderfully economically. That was really a breath of fresh air after the tank I was toting around the world with before.
2. And cheap
When I fill up, it feels like I'm sixteen again and filling up my moped, it's that cheap. 35 euros max, I don't spend more than that. While before I would only think about what I could have done with that money.
3. Always a spot
With my super compact Twingo, there is always a spot to be found. Keizersgracht, Nieuwmarkt, bring it on, we can always squeeze in.
4. That turning circle
Now that we're talking about technical qualities: that turning circle is unmatched. Ideal for people like me who don't really score a ten when it comes to reversing. If possible, I turn and continue forward. No matter how narrow the alley, with a maximum of one turn we are already turned 180 degrees.
5. The space
Yes, there are more small cute cars, but this one really has the most space inside. It has five doors, you can sit well in the back, and there is also a decent trunk. Our record: my love, my father-in-law, two daughters, a dog, and me. All in the little car.
6. Cute
That's just what it is. And particularly photogenic too.
7. Police favorite
If you drive a Twingo, you really won't get stopped by the police that quickly. Twingo stands for civilized and considered, for good choices and timely maintenance and so on. That's just how it is.
8. Service
I have, don't be shocked, already driven 13,000 kilometers in nine months and suddenly I was struck with fear, because shouldn't I have gone to the dealer for a service at 5,000 km? I called just to check, keeping in mind that I would be scolded. Nothing of the sort. It was ‘Good morning, Mrs. Mobach’ here and ‘How are you, Mrs. Mobach’ there and that I was right on time because the first service is only needed after one year or after 20,000 kilometers.
9. All about the Twingo
One of our goals was to spread the gospel of the Twingo because you won't find a better private lease. From 189 euros per month you can drive a brand new Twingo with all the comforts included. Including road tax, services, maintenance, replacement transport. Anyway. To reward your choice, we made a great goodie bag (an extremely filled SUITSUIT suitcase) and gave it to everyone who bought a Renault Twingo this year or signed a private lease contract, and we gave away 25 of them this year.
For next year, the goal is that I wave a tight upper arm to all fellow Twingo drivers.
10. Good for the environment
I believe that in these times – if you can afford it – you should choose a smaller car. Even if it's just your second car. When possible, drive small and with as little emissions as possible.
I think I will treat my sweetheart to a car wash today, because that is something I have to do myself.
