Mei's Londen Dagboek

What comes from afar is tastier and what is not allowed is more fun. The latter captures this trip, as we want to take photos everywhere where it is forbidden and squeeze our feet between doors where a ‘members only’ sign is posted.

We are in London with Danie Bles on one of her trips that she organizes in an unparalleled way. One takes a media partner (us), a group of fun women with a strong Instagram account, and beautiful brands that like to see their ‘products’ in our feed. Buddha To Buddha (you know, from the chunky jewelry), M.A.C Cosmetics, Silvian Heach, Toral Shoes, and Goosecraft fit perfectly with the concept.

Then the group. My Belgian counterpart Tiany Kiriloff, Ellen Hoog (who can finally enjoy these kinds of outings now that she has stopped professional hockey, although she can't drink now because she is pregnant but anyway, smelling my glass is allowed), Victoria Verstappen (indeed, the sister of), Kim Feenstra, Renate Gerschtanowitz, Lizzy Perridon, Bo Maerten, Chloé Chante, and Naomi Avrahami.

We sleep in Soho House Shoreditch, the neighborhood where you have the most photogenic walls in London and where the only chains you find are Le Labo and Aesop.

Danie can do many things, but tracking down the perfect places to eat, she is the master. That's why I'm sharing our addresses with you, for that weekend in London that you just want to book because man oh man oh man, how fun it is here.

1. Redemption Bar
Small downside: they don't serve alcohol. Advantage: they make cocktails so delicious that you don't miss the gin and I have rarely eaten such tasty vegan food.

2. Cecconi’s
The restaurant of the Soho House group with the tastiest Italian food ever. Good news: Cecconi’s is now also in Soho House Amsterdam. Even better news: to eat at Cecconi’s you don't have to be a member of Soho House.

3. Loulou’s
Yes, that's a bit of a shame because to get into Loulou’s, you do have to be a member or friends with people who are members. Or friends of friends of friends. But I know you will manage. You have never been to such a cozy, original, fairy-tale restaurant. If it doesn't work out; a small consolation. The food is puuuurima, but not so much that I will talk about it all day today.

Last night Lil and Kiki (yes, they are also here, I completely forgot to mention) talked for three hours about love and life in the rooftop bar of Soho House. Today I will cautiously see if the rooftop pool really is the 30 degrees they say it is and especially discover even more fun addresses to share. Bye!
