Model that sold ‘virginity’ for two million is in trouble
Do we still remember Aleexandra Khefren? You know, the Romanian model who sold her virginity last year. It made you raise your eyebrows for a moment. Mine did too, by the way. That a businessman from Hong Kong was willing to pay 2.3 million for a night with the model was almost too disgusting to read. But what turns out now, a year later? It was one big publicity stunt. In an interview with the website Sugarcookie, Aleexandra reveals that ‘the auction’ was nothing more than a promotional stunt and that there was actually no bidder at all. The model claims she was approached by the website Cinderella Escorts herself.
So why throw this bizarre story into the world? Aleexandra would become more famous with her modeling career and the escort website would also get some nice publicity. Win-win, they thought. Initially, the escort website promised the model that the stunt would stay ‘in’ England (how do you promise that, I wonder?), but within two hours the news went viral. “It has destroyed my life. My family wants nothing to do with me. Everyone called me a liar.” Due to the out-of-hand stunt, the model lost her friends and claims to have fallen into a depression. Oh, and that escort service? They deny the whole story. “We had found a client for Aleexandra, but the safety check for our clients revealed that there were photos on Instagram showing that she had a boyfriend. That wasn't very smart, which is why we had to terminate the collaboration.” All in all: this is an intensely weird story. Money makes you happy, Aleexandra? Don’t think so.
