Is there a Modern Family spin-off coming?

Spin-offs or revivals, yes, trends are not only present in fashion, they are also very much present in movies and series. Take the latest variant of Ghostbusters, there is an Ocean’s film coming with an all-girl cast, we had the four extra episodes of Gilmore Girls and now there is also some buzz around the hit show Modern Family. After season ten it will stop, but if you are afraid that you will end up in a huge black hole, then I have good news for you.

There is most likely a spin-off coming. At least, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the creators of the show, Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd, indicated that it is possible but that they have not started on it yet. The idea is also that it will not be aired immediately after the last episode of Modern Family has aired. The creators want some time in between, so that if there is a spin-off, it takes place when the younger generation has their own children and ‘modern families’ begin. Are you still following?

However, there is also talk of a Modern Family movie and about books by Phil Dunphy, (yes please) so if you were afraid of missing the Pritchetts and Dunphys; if it’s up to the creators, they are far from done with them. #yay
