REPORT: JBL SNOW PARTY
If I tell you that I slept for ten hours straight yesterday, you can probably guess that the JBL snow party was quite a success. With bags under my eyes down to my ankles, I settled behind my laptop to tell you everything. Here it comes.
Oh, by the way, I had never been skiing before. Still recovering from a night of dancing to the tunes of Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, I showed up on Saturday with trembling knees to ski instructor Michel (I can call him Mies). He looks at me a bit strangely and asks once more if I really am a beginner. I get it, because I’m wearing the flashiest suit in all of Valtho. I affectionately call it my spy costume, because the thing is completely black, fits snugly, and has a giant zipper in the front. I thought it looked very professional, it’s like I’ve been doing this for years. After some awkward pizza slice braking sessions and a hefty belly slide down the slope, I quickly reveal my true level.
After some skiing, I retreat with my friend and skiing partner in crime Kiki Boreel to the room to warm up with the JBL GO 2. Think: very loud and off-key with a hairbrush. Warmed up and ready, we head to Bar 360. With an Aperol Spritz in hand, we get to grill a little hamburger on the barbecue. We eat as if we haven’t eaten in years. Skiing makes you hungry. And then there are the JBL-ambassadors. Tinie Tempah, Feder, Synapson, and Nicky Romero are spinning some great tracks. I hop, jump, and make my way through the après-ski lovers to show off my dance moves on the left (I have to uphold my honor after all those motor skills errors on skis).
Sunday is the rest day. The advanced skiers take a few more runs, while I enjoy (with a headache from yesterday) a lavish breakfast buffet. At 11:30 AM, the bus takes us to Lyon airport. The snow fun is over, but JBL, can I come again next time? Man oh man, this is amazing.
