Jughead Jones is no more

The Ghoulies are back in Riverdale and Jughead Jones knows how to handle that (Betty's and Lili's boyfriend). To protect the Serpents, mister hero himself sacrifices himself and decides to head in Penny Peabody's direction. Not a good idea of course, because he gets beaten up badly. Let me take you back to episode 21, where F.P. Jones lifted his knocked-out son out of the woods. Riverdale fans haven't been able to sleep for a week. What the F is happening to Riverdale's favorite Jughead? We still can't believe it, but we have the answer to your Jughead questions. We are really convinced that Jughead Jones is dead. And this is our evidence.

Cole Sprouse's Twitter account

This is what Cole tweeted on April 2, from which we can conclude that he is not coming back for season 3.

May 1. I find that a bit strange too. Cole, are you now just completely unemployed? Jobless? Does this mean you are not in season 3?

May 10. Is this a joke? ‘Grateful, thank you’? Hashtag Riverdale? Are you just saying goodbye to us?

Jimmy Fallon

Cole was a guest on Jimmy Fallon in January, where they of course talked extensively about Riverdale. Jimmy asked for a spoiler to which Cole responded: ’I die’, causing the entire audience to burst into laughter. Jughead dead? How funny is that? Just watch below from 3 minutes 46.

The trailer for season 2, episode 22

One takes Archie, Betty, and Veronica for a grave where Betty says: ‘Our story is not over, it’s just beginning.’ Since Jughead declared his love in their last phone call, it seems only logical that this is about the non-breathing Jughead.

They are still speculations, but we are painfully convinced. Goodbye dear Jughead. A milkshake at Pop's will never taste the same without you. Sob.
