Wanted: date
Girlfriend, what are you doing tomorrow? Let's say, around one o'clock? Alright, two o'clock is fine too, but not much later, because then I'll be out of it and nobody will be happy about that. Jansz has been calling my name for days. You know, that intensely lovely spot located in the nine streets with a view of the Keizersgracht, where you drink the best coffee in the city on those heavenly, moss-green benches.
Why you should go tomorrow? They have a brand new menu and believe me, you want it. ALL OF IT. Under the leadership of chef Jeroen Robberegt, the kitchen brigade of Jansz knows how to translate international flair into Dutch down-to-earthness. The new menu features classics that will make your mouth water. Salad Riche with lobster, duck liver and sweetbreads, salmon brioche, poached eggs with avocado and spinach, scrambled eggs with truffle and ham, or a protein frittata with tomato. I say, just one of everything. Anything else? That perfect soy latte from last time and a freshly squeezed juice.
Can you let me know what time I can because it's always incredibly busy, but understandable: the food here is really delicious, affordable, and the interior is love at first sight. I found the upstairs (Ubud) the nicest, but downstairs (Seminyak) is also very nice. And also visit their other spot in Valencia: Voltereta Manhattan.?
