The 10 series you want to see according to expert Carolien
Now that the harsh, wintry weather has officially set in, we can trade our terrace evenings for binge-watching on the couch for hours. And secretly, I'm quite happy about it because I'm way behind: so many amazing series have been released that I can use these winter months to get completely up to date. Although, when asked about ‘the ten from Carolien’, I could effortlessly fill the list. Admittedly with series that I haven't fully seen or even not at all, but this one is definitely on my to-watch list that I didn't want to withhold from you. Whether you like suspense, comedy, or documentaries; there's something for everyone. Happy binge-watching!
1. Dix Pour Cent: a French comedy series about an agency that represents artists and this brings a lot of difficulties. Light-hearted and easy to watch.
2. Sopranos: years old, but this remains one of my favorites. I might dare to say that this is the best series ever made. It's a mafia series with the most lovable, scary, funny, endearing, and badass ‘Capo dei Capi’ that ever existed.
3. La Casa de Papel: a Spanish series about the coolest heist in history. At the beginning of season 2, I lost a bit of the tension, but after a few episodes, I was completely back in. And a third season is coming, can't wait!
4. Mocro Maffia: hats off to the creators of this Dutch series. Partly played by ‘real Mocro's from the street’, and the season finale is still burned into my retina. Let's hope for season 3.
5. Wild Wild Country: with this docuseries, my mouth dropped open in amazement multiple times. I won't reveal too much, but after this series, you will know everything about the Bhagwan, more than you would want to know...
6. Wanderlust: a new comedy-drama about a couple that, after so many years of marriage, goes on a quest by dating others. And that brings a lot both individually and for their relationship.
7. Who is America?: Sacha Baron Cohen is back! With four new characters, he travels through America and meets the most intriguing personalities.
8. House of Cards: I can't wait until the last season is online. I binge-watched this series deep into the night. It's a political drama series that will stay with you for a long time.
9. Big Little Lies: this lovely drama series is also getting a second season. Just for the actresses, it's worth watching (including Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman). The chic place Monterey is shaken up with the arrival of a new resident.
10. Bodyguard: according to The Guardian ‘the mega hit of 2018’ and that immediately caught my attention. It's a British series about a traumatized war veteran who becomes the bodyguard of the British Home Secretary.
