The answer to my problem
“I can't think about it, May.” I hear this every day when I ritualistically call my sales director Daan in the car. We are treading water through life. We work, have children, need to do fun things, exercise, have to buy gifts for this and that, and then also have to go to the eye doctor and the dental hygienist, and in between we still have to figure out what to eat in the evening in the morning. So we can't do that. We both really love good and tasty food, but we are also not those foodies who spend the whole weekend flipping through cookbooks and determining the entire meal schedule for the week. We really don't have time for that.
I often think of my grandmother. With her seven children, she really had no time and no inspiration to conjure up a surprise on the table every day. So they ate steak with potatoes every Monday, fresh soup every Wednesday, a mashed potato dish on Thursday, and so on. The same every week, all year round. This way, she also knew exactly what groceries she needed to buy. Nice and clear, but really not very fun, mwah.
It might be a bit more surprising for me, but I can also fall back on the classics during the week. Spaghetti bolognese, fish from the oven, a nice filled soup with a fish stick for the girls. No, there is no Nigella Lawson hidden in me.
But that is going to change. I would almost want to put an exclamation mark behind it. I am becoming team HelloFresh. Once a week, our dinner is delivered. They decide what we eat (although I can indicate the difficulty level or choose the Quick & Easy Box, the Veggiebox, the Originalbox, or the Familybox) and everything is neatly packaged together per meal. That clove of garlic or that pinch of saffron is all included. Just like the recipe. I look forward to the overview, the convenience, and the fact that I can finally put a different dish on the table than the usual suspects.
Man, what am I going to score. A child can do the laundry. And cooking, that too. And with the discount code HELLOAMAYZINE you get 50% off your first box (valid only for new customers and on a flexible membership).
