The avocado dip that goes with (almost) everything
Millennials eat avocados, just like mom and dad grew up with a hearty stamppot. I definitely consume two ripe ones per week and I start to whine if they turn out to be unripe. We millennials all know the struggle, admit it. One of my classics is the avocado dip, à la avodip. It's such a classic because it actually goes with everything. You deposit all the ingredients in the Philips Blender, hit the gas and you're done.
What do you need for a well-filled home-kitchen-soup bowl? I could start calling out ingredients, but I don't know what and how much you want.
- 3 ripe (very important) avocados
- The juice of 1/2 lime
- 3 tablespoons Greek yogurt, dairy spread or something in that area
- 1 pinch of pepper (as big or small as you want)
- 1 pinch of salt (same here)
- 1/2 red chili (for the spicy aunt, you can also leave it out)
How do you make it?
1. Filet the avocados and cut off the dark spots. You can eat them, but you want the dip to be nice and fresh green in color.
2. Combine all the ingredients in the Philips Blender and sprinkle the lime juice over your mixture.
3. Blender on and go.
4. Done is Kees.
The 8 food groups that this dip tastes phenomenal with. There are many more of course, but you have more to do today.
1. Nice and fresh on a crispy Italian roll with smoked salmon.
2. Hop, on that plate with nachos and melted cheese. Some sour cream, chili sauce and a dip on the side. Done.
3. In your wrap, a bit of chicken, a bit of lettuce, a bit of avodip. Voilà.
4. To dip with a breadstick. Believe me: simplicity is everything.
5. On your sandwich. Slice a tomato, boil an egg, add some pepper, some salt and stack away.
6. To mix with your boiled egg, you'll spontaneously get an avo-egg salad.
7. You can make a cold avocado soup from it, you just need to add a few more ingredients.
8. Nice to mix with your crumbled feta and serve with a Greek dish.
Enjoy them, huh. An avocado a day keeps the doctor away. Or something like that.
