The movie you MUST see
‘Loving Pablo’ is the movie you want, need, and will see. If only because Pénelope Cruz is once again stunningly beautiful in it and because she plays alongside her beloved Javier Bardem. By the way, he has a fake belly stuck on his torso. Luckily, I thought for a moment that he was the victim of a case of method acting and that Pénelope was now at home on the couch with a very fat Javier, but that's not the case. Fake belly, fake mustache (no, I think that one is real) and according to the Volkskrant, you forget within thirty seconds that it's Javier and see Pablo Escobar instead.
Just the opening credits gave me goosebumps. Two Oscar winners (the only Spanish actors ever to win an Oscar) who have also found love together and are again each other's beloveds in this film. Not particularly happy, by the way, because Pablo Escobar wasn't exactly cozy. But, as the character Pénelope plays, Virginia Vallejo, says: if you have to cry about your man, you'd rather do it in a private jet than on a bus.
‘Loving Pablo’ is NOW showing and if you want more Pénelope, my tip is: ‘Non ti Muovere’. One of the most intense films I've ever seen.
And if you want more Javier Bardem: ‘Biutiful’. Make sure to have tissues nearby because you're definitely going to cry.
