The Obamas on TV
The Obamas may no longer live in the White House, but they once stole my heart (okay, that was secretly also a bit because of Sunny) and I never got it back. That charming smile of Barack gives me a hot flash every now and then (and I'm not that old yet). And then there's Michelle. Every time she stands on stage next to her Barack (and not behind him), I would love to crawl into the TV. Michelle makes you want to have her close by. As a mother-in-law or a friend you just want to have coffee with for a bit. I still follow them closely to this day. And I spontaneously started hyperventilating when I just opened the NY Times website with my freshly brewed filter coffee and was surprised by already the best news of today. The Obamas are getting a new series. Okay, they are at least in talks with NETFLIX for their own series. The TV show would bring inspiring stories about themes that Barack and Michelle also found important during their time in the White House.
The deal is not completely finalized yet and whether Barack himself will be seen on screen is also not certain, but according to The New York Times, Obama is in advanced talks with Netflix. The show would not be about politics, but would bring inspiring stories about themes that Barack and Michelle have always found important: climate change and healthy eating, for example.
If the two parties come to an agreement, it will be one of the biggest deals that Netflix has ever made with a party. Now let's hope that Mr. Barack himself appears on screen. For example, at the kitchen counter, while he is straining his homemade oat milk with Sunny tugging at his pant leg. Then I will watch TV again. Or crawl into it. I promise.
