The perfume that every mother deserves

When I was pregnant with my first, I was quite disgusted by ‘mother things’. Going to Prénatal was a challenge. Especially when I read their slogan on the windows: ‘Where you become us’. It's just that I had just thrown up my lunch out of the car window, otherwise I probably would have done it there. A baby shower, also something.

But I worked at an editorial office with only women, except for editor-in-chief John Lukken, and they demanded a baby shower. If not for me, then for their own enjoyment. I instructed boss John loud and clear what ab-so-lutely should not be on the table. No bibs with texts like ‘I love my mom’ or ‘My dad is the best’. Preferably no texts at all. And no clothing in bright colors. Preferably no colors at all. Just cream or white.

John fulfilled his duty and my dear colleagues organized a high tea and sent me home with a gift bag so heavy that I couldn't lift it alone. All the gifts were spot on, but one stuck with me. That one was for me, after all. And the mother, she must not be forgotten during the postpartum period. She has had quite a bit of pain to deal with. They gave me a perfume that was brand new: Chloé by Chloé. The bottle was beautiful with the pink ribbon as a subtle hint towards the gender of my upcoming child. I kept it somewhat of a secret, but in the meantime, everyone already knew. The scent was so fresh and clean that it perfectly matched my slightly hysterical state of cleaning enthusiasm. And aesthetically (are there even prettier bottles to be found?), it really brightened up my vanity.

Even now, the scent holds a special place for me. It's a scent you recognize from hundreds. Moreover, it stays with you for a long time. Ideal for busy mothers, because re-spraying is not necessary. It's clean and fresh and lovely, but also fits perfectly in a business environment. It's sensual and cozy. Actually, it contains all the facets that you as a mother should also possess. We don't always succeed, but hey, we do our best, so if someone doesn't know what to give us on that 13th of May: my hint is clear, it seems to me.

If you want something more current, then sniff at Chloé Nomade. Speaking of beautiful bottles. And gentlemen, if you're reading along, there are also delightful shower gels, body lotions, and deodorants in all lines of Chloé. So come on; pamper that woman.
