The solution for when your train is always delayed
The editorial app is sputtering. My train is delayed. Mine too. And another one. When I arrive at the office and park my Twingo, Kiki and Annabelle roll out of an Uber. In their hands something tasty from Starbucks. “Yeah, yeah, May, we know.” I have repeated my mantra so often that I don’t need to say anything more. “Just take a private lease,” I sigh, “because you can drive a Renault Twingo from just 179 euros a month.” “Yes May,” they say then. “And you’re on time,” I add. “Or if there’s traffic, at least you’re in your own cozy little house, with your own music, your own snacks, and your own trunk where everything is that you would otherwise be lugging around on the train. No stinky, loud types next to you. No standing on the balcony (which sounds so much fancier than it actually is) or waiting at cold stations. And oh yes, also not having to be somewhere to the minute because the train then leaves. And that can be delayed by ten minutes just when you’ve just sprinted, so fast that Dafne Schippers would be proud of you.
All that hassle, you don’t have that anymore. And you’re probably cheaper off than taking the train and Ubers, I’ll say it again. With Renault Private Lease your road tax is included. And your maintenance. And your insurance. The only thing you pay for is the fuel.
I won’t shake my head in pity when my dear colleagues text that they have train delays again. But sympathy, I don’t have that anymore.
