Things that happen when you often laugh at your own joke

Look, Najib Amhali doesn't want to call himself that, but when you throw a joke into the world, you naturally find it hysterically funny yourself. You're laughing. Almost roaring. And yes, the following happens.

You laugh even before you've said anything at all.

You already know that the grand finale is going to be hilarious, which makes it hard for you to finish your sentences, people can't understand you, and the tears are already streaming down your cheeks.

You drop it.

Full throttle. Followed by a roaring primal scream. Then you look expectantly at your companions. And then this happens...

The painful silence.

You initially assume that others will be completely rolling on the floor laughing at your joke, but you hear the crickets. Confused looks. ‘What, guys? Not funny? NOT? HOW THEN?’

You feel awkward because freaking nobody laughs.

Which makes you laugh even harder.. How can people have so little humor? Maybe you also make some strange sounds with it. A snort. Or a breathy laugh.

You wonder if you're a bit of a weirdo.

Does everyone do this? Oh, sure. Did you know there are entire compilations of Obama cracking up at his own jokes? Love Obama. Obama for president. Or, uh, ex-president then.

Then people do start laughing, but then at your laugh.

Not that they find your joke funny, but the fact that you're cracking up does. But hey, the result is the same: everyone is in stitches.

Which makes you think that you must be really funny.

And the vicious joke-telling circle is complete, which means you pull the same knee-slappers out of your sleeve at every random party and we're back to step one. HAHAHA.

P.S..: Good to know: there has been scientific research on people who can laugh at themselves. The outcome? Those who can laugh at themselves have a more positive outlook on life than those who can't. Ha, put that in your pocket, you hysterically funny dragon.

P.P.S.: What type of laugher are you? The snicker? The dolphin, the Gerard Joling, or the roarer? Take the test here..
