This is the best investment

You can only spend your money once (okay, maybe twice if you buy on credit at Bol and pay that invoice next month) but once it's gone, it's gone. My colleague Daan and I always send each other screenshots at the end of the month with the amount still in our account, and I can tell you: it ain’t much.

That's why you need to think carefully about what you do with your money, and I totally understand that there are things you need to think about. For example, last week I left a jacket that was on sale hanging, and with the money I ‘saved’ (because hey, I didn't buy that jacket so that amount could be spent on something else) I bought a professional grill for my loved one. Because that jacket, I wear it occasionally, but with this grill, I make my loved one (and myself) happy every day. So that's what I chose.

So I thought that beautiful sheets were a closing item for many people. Not for me, because as you might know, I have a thing for beautiful sheets. A survey in the editorial office taught me that almost everyone was willing to pay a little more for quality. Especially when it comes to bedding. I asked them for their arguments, and they came out particularly smoothly. Read them in case you have doubts. If you're reading this, you're convinced.

They last a very long time

How long do you use a set of sheets? Years and years, right? Think about your costs per night of sleep. So you buy a set of sheets for 160 euros. Let's assume you change sheets every week. Then you sleep 365 days divided by two under your set. That already amounts to 0.876 per night per year. But you don't just use it for one year, but maybe three years. That gets divided by two, and then you come to 0.43 cents per night. In other words: completely and totally negligible.

They are incredibly beautiful

Also think about the surface that your duvet cover takes up in your bedroom: a flat area of two by two. You don't want that to be dirty and shabby, but Pinterest-proof? Well then.

It feels so much better

Do a blind test between a regular duvet cover and one with a high thread count (read here what that means) and really, you can feel it right away. Think about how many hours you spend under your sheets each day. That's already eight hours of sleep and hopefully also quite a few moments of chilling and cuddling.

Your bedroom is presentable

Unexpected visitors in your bedroom in any form (from maternity nurse to spontaneous bed visitors) is no problem at all. Your bed is always the best business card.

It's really good for your Instagram

All those Sunday morning chill photos of your legs, that open laptop, that croissant, they really do so much better when it happens on a nice duvet.
