This is the perfume of 2018

And this is how it lasts all day long

Your nose is the strongest organ and has a connection to the limbic system of the brain. The limbic what (?): where your mood and emotions reign. It makes sense, therefore, that we keep searching for a scent that fits perfectly. Even before you say anything, you signal who you are with a scent. And I have THE scent you want to do that with: Gucci Bloom Acqua di Fiori.

When big sister Gucci Bloom came to our editorial office, I was already circling around May's desk. Unobtrusively, of course, I thought, but May saw right through me. I was beyond help because something so floral, refined, and unique had not been picked up by my nose for a long time. So I got a bit out of my mind when THE box, with curled flowers, lay under the tree in December. But with the Acqua di Fiori, I have a new object of desire.

The base is Gucci Bloom, look, there you have me already, but Acqua di Fiori is fresh, light, your new uniform for summer. This is also a creation by Gucci's master perfumer Alberto Morillas. He remained true to the flower, but with green galbanum and the elegance of black currant. Oh, you know? Rush to the bottle closest to you and go smell that. I have some tips for you to ensure that Gucci Bloom Acqua di Fiori lasts long.

  1. Apply the perfume to pulse points (not to be confused with your plus points). Behind your ear, on your décolleté, lightly against your temple, the throat, and in the hollow of your elbow and knee. And save those last two for home, because it looks a bit odd in a public restroom.
  2. Store your perfume in a dry and dark place, no matter how beautiful the bottle is, and not on the shelf in a damp bathroom. That takes away the strength of the perfume.
  3. Spray with intention. Walking through a cloud of perfume does nothing for you and your scent, and it also ensures that your neighbor doesn't have to gasp for air when he encounters you. Subtlety is key.
  4. Rubbing your wrists together vigorously is a no-go, as this literally breaks the scent.
  5. Use everything you can find of the same scent. A lotion, the scent fest for under the shower (I always find that a treat) or a few drops for the bath. This way, you build the scent around yourself and it comes back with every whiff. You want to. And a good excuse to shop a little more. Right?!
