This message is too scary to click on

With the greatest horror, I watch from behind my laptop a cat that has gotten stuck between a tilting window (just a warning to all cat owners: NEVER put your window in tilt position, I mean it). The video was shared by a veterinarian, who wanted to show how many cats become paralyzed each year after getting stuck and trying with all their might to free themselves. In the worst case, it ends fatally. I knew it wasn't smart for my animal-loving heart to click on it, but I did anyway.

In short: I click on things that I actually don't want to see. Very annoying. No idea why, call it the insatiable curiosity of humans combined with a touch of craycrayness. Recognizable to you? This is what all disaster tourists/clickers do.

1. Clicking on videos that start with: this girl has (hair, warts, nipples, name something) all over her body. You don't want to see it. And yet you click.

2. The new trailer for something very scary (let's say The Rings and the girl with that freaking scary well). It’s still headlined with ‘this is the scariest trailer ever’ but it only makes you even more curious. With three months of nightmares as a result. Damn Ring.

3. Videos of absurd boils being squeezed with pus explosions as a result. Yikes. Ransaap.

4. Sex videos of celebrities that you actually have no desire for. No, we don't necessarily want to watch, but curiosity always wins. Sorry.

5. Overall very scary sex videos (that you always get forwarded by one particular jokester in the friend group). Before you know it, you're watching two Japanese chicks and a large collection of eels. In the video, the eels appear in places where you don't want to see eels. Help.

6. Scary things happening in the world. The Bataclan videos? Seen them all. Ariana Grande concert? The Twin Towers special? Also. Even the most miserable videos that you don't want to see, you click on.

7. Lions taking down an antelope on Discovery Channel. I saw it once as a little girl and have been so traumatized that I can now say I will NEVER do this again.

8. Videos of people falling hard, while it would be terrible if it were your little sister. And yet we watch it en masse.

A bunch of crazies.
