This film on Netflix is the new Notebook
“I wrote you 365 letters. I wrote you every day for a year. It wasn’t over… it still isn’t over.” Damn, I only have to read this quote and I already get a lump in my throat. Or what about this one: “If you’re a bird, I’m a bird.” For everyone who found the love story of Allie and Noah in The Notebook so tear-jerkingly beautiful and then never wanted to watch movies again: there is hope.
Countless filmmakers have tried in vain over the years to crack the success formula of The Notebook, but the new romcom Set It Up on Netflix comes pretty close as the modern version. Yes, just on Netflix, so if you're looking for a good love story to check out this week: there you go. Set It Up revolves around the lives of two young assistants (played by Zoey Deutch and Glen Powell Charm) who are worked to the bone by their bosses day and night. To relieve the work pressure, they come up with a scheme: to set up their terrible employers with each other so they can spend a bit more time in their free time instead of being busy with work 24/7. Everything gets complicated all at once when the two also fall in love with each other…
Anyway, definitely check out the trailer. Guess what I'm going to do tonight…
