Three-quarters of people who cheat have no regrets
If you decide to cheat on your partner with someone else, you might feel really bad about it afterwards. Or maybe not at all.
Because research shows that as much as three-quarters of the Dutch have no regrets about a fling. Those who cheat actually find it quite fine. Feeling guilty? Not at all, that's so old-fashioned. And if there's no sense of remorse, there's little need to confess anything. Because at least 64% of people say they prefer to keep it to themselves, that whole infidelity. Had a wild night with a stranger? Joe, nobody needs to know.
Still, more than 80% of people say that cheating, whoever may do it, causes irreparable damage to your relationship. As in: whether you or he is skating on thin ice, it doesn't matter, you're the Sjakie either way, doomed to misery. Because according to many, such things only happen when more is wrong in that relationship. So the chance that you cheat and happily continue with your steady partner is, according to most experts, not that great. Before you know it, after that one fling, you're just back to were single therefore.
So think carefully about where you let your tongue wander after a beer or sixteen around King's Day, otherwise you'll be sitting alone on the couch during Pentecost.
