Trends in babyland that you didn't know existed

Suddenly, I find myself in a new world. Because becoming a mother comes with a lot of baby stuff. And there are things... You wouldn't believe it.

It's certainly fun to figure out where you can buy what. I'm already saving for a double stroller, those things cost quite a bit. Don't be shocked by prices around 1800 euros, huh, for a stroller. Where they will outgrow it within a year again, but okay. Everything for the little ones.

But there's more. More that surprises me. Handy things, that's for sure. Bottles that warm up to the right temperature and otherwise start beeping. You don't have to pour them over your own hand anymore. Cradles that, yes, rock themselves. So you don't have to stand next to them as a mother anymore. Animal heads for the wall. Preferably a unicorn with glitter. Car seats that make music, soothe, and massage. Cool shades of gray, rattan, wool, and bright colors like yellow and orange. That's the trend. You can see via a special baby monitor on your mobile whether your child is sleeping and also how. ‘Baby one sleeping on his back’, you then receive as a message. ‘Baby two smiles and dressmen’. Message two.

Or this: a ‘baby shusher’, a kind of device where you can lay your baby in that feels exactly like the womb, so the child calms down. Or the ‘Nursery Spa’. This warms the clothes of your little one so that dressing goes easier; they find a warm onesie quite nice.

And I want all of this now too. Not because I need it, but because I know it exists:

  • A mini ball pit for indoors
  • A Chanel pacifier. Two of them, I don't discriminate between my children
  • A mini bathrobe with a name on it
  • A cool vintage tricycle for in the room, even though they won't ride it for another three years
  • Eighteen bunny stuffed animals because bunnies are cute
  • A diaper bag from Louis Vuitton
  • A bucket that fits exactly one baby to bathe in
  • Such a sweet nest where they can sleep when the bed is still too big

It's just that I still have to move and therefore have to wait a bit before buying ten thousand things for the nursery, but otherwise...
