Raise your hand now if you spend the last 30 minutes of your day on your phone. You too? Me too. Did it for years. Just that round of Insta, checking emails, and a bit of aimless scrolling on Facebook. Actually, I've been wanting to read a good book for months now, but well, I never had the ‘time’ for it again. Bullshit. So a few days ago, I bought a book. Stromboli, by my favorite author Saskia Noort. After page 8, I was so into it that Saskia forced me to take more me-time. So off I went. In the garden on a chair in the golden hour evening sun. Before going to sleep in bed. On the train. In the bath. And now that Stromboli is finished, I’m sure I’m going to pick up reading more again. What is it about? About love, a torn family, and finding yourself again. I can tell you more, but how nice is it to go into a book unreservedly? That’s what I mean. Believe me: it’s good. So throw that phone aside a bit more often and dive into the letters this lovely summer. You can thank me later.
