Why drinking rosé is always the best idea of the day
I don't have a genuine dislike for many things in life, but I do for flying. I'm always nervous about that.
And do you know what helps the most? A rosé or three to throw back. Really, the golden tip. Suddenly I found the whole airport fun. The flight too. The flight attendants, the seat I was in, the food on board... Everything even looked a bit pink. Look, I can work with that. With that color.
Speaking of which...
So, four friends and I organize a so-called wine night every now and then, when our schedules allow it. Yes guys, they are legendary. This is what it roughly entails: it's always at someone's home. Not in a pub, no, a dinner at the kitchen table. The person hosting chooses a country. From Chile to South Africa: it can be anything. Then we all bring a bottle of wine from that country. The hostess also cooks food in the style of, for example, New Zealand or Spain and then we just drink. Taste, sort of, but after bottle three, there's not a soul who can still be interested in that grape variety and peach-like aftertaste. That's obviously part of the fun. We always prepare whole stories to sell our brought wine well, but after three and a half years of wine nights, we still can't tell the difference between white and red with our eyes closed.
Now it's almost my turn and I'm going to take full advantage of it. Because: it's summer. And summer calls for rosé. Let that just be my favorite drink (for about eight hundred years) and let it also be my favorite color.
In short, it's going to be a sunny barbecue with pink cups, pink plates, pink flamingos in the garden, pink snacks, pink treats, and pink desserts. Ideally, I also ask my girls to wear a pink shirt with pink flip-flops on their feet, but okay, that might be just a tad too far. Although... There's a first time for everything. Just like stepping onto a plane tipsy from rosé. That too.
Got thirsty too? From the first Sunday in June, you can go to the chic and Amsterdam Jansz. for a ‘Rosé All Day’ day. Or: the Rosé Sunday. There you'll find a lot of pink, cozy, and pretty drinks from Provence. Jansz. consists of several canal houses and has two terraces, where it's lovely to have drinks in winter and summer, with the Keizersgracht on one side and the 9 Streets on the other. The trendiest neighborhood in the city, so. You also get seen a bit on that fancy terrace.
So if I'm really smart, I won't sit in my own garden at all, but at the trendy Jansz. The tastiest rosé where you don't even have to tell a story about it. Yay.
Jansz. Rosé Sundays
June 3 and 17, July 1 and 15, and August 5 and 19 from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Be there!
