Why Kate Middleton doesn't wear black

London is where you should have been last night. That’s where the famous and well-known gathered for the seventieth BAFTA Awards. Let me update you on the highlight of the evening.

Because even though Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri came out as the big winner, all eyes were on Kate Middleton who appeared on the red carpet with her William.

In solidarity with the TimesUP movement, almost all female guests opted for an all-black ensemble, but not Kate. She appeared in a green Jenny Packham. Now don’t frown immediately, because there’s a reason for that. Royals don’t make political statements and the protocol says they actually only wear black at a funeral. So actually, that deep dark green dress might just be a statement for a royal, as close as it came to the prescribed expression of support.
