Why moving while pregnant is a celebration
I come home from work and mister is ready with a bottle of children's champagne. Oh god. that can only mean one thing.
WE HAVE A NEW HOUSE!
After literally seeing 82 houses inside and out, after bidding and being rejected eighteen times and crying and cursing and considering three times not to go through with renovations, because of the rush, it has finally succeeded. A new house in Amsterdam, a few streets away from our current house. Bigger. More spacious. We are staying in the city. We are getting two little Amsterdammers. What a celebration. Moving with my twin baby belly which is definitely about 5.5 months big; it may not sound like the ideal planning, but it is.
Because it is honestly so nice to finally be able to chat about cribs, curtains, velvet cushions, leather sofas, plants, bed covers, and side tables. I am now fantasizing about changing tables. I am now talking about the color of the playpen. Yes, the nesting is about to begin. That children's room can finally be created and that makes it all more real, becoming a mother. That is a relief, because for a moment we thought we wouldn't be able to do that in time. Now I still feel fit (except for the cramp in my legs) and that makes moving so much more pleasant. At least I feel like going to Babypark and Babyland and all that nonsense. Feeling like it, yes you heard that right. Because there is finally enough space for two cribs and a double stroller. And sterile bottles, muslin cloths, fluffy bunny toys, and sixteen packs of diapers in size 56.
Since I am already definitely over halfway and have about 15 weeks to go, this finally brings peace. Making that little spot for them, how nice is that? By the way, I also read something that the longest pregnancy of a woman ever lasted no less than a year and ten days. That is no less than 375 days instead of around 280 on average. Very bizarre story. But uh, no, rather not. Just give me those 15 weeks, I will get on with those new curtains, I promise.
