Can we just leave Malia Obama alone for a moment?

Oh good good, Malia Obama (yes, the daughter of) has had a glass of wine and the world is in an uproar. You see: the girl is twenty. And in prudish America, you can only sip a glass when you're 21. Not that any teenager in the United States actually follows that rule, but still. Bureaucracy is also a separate profession.

The eldest daughter of Barack and Michelle Obama was spotted yesterday with a few friends by the pool of a luxury hotel in Miami and next to them was, indeed: a bottle of rosé. And now there are people who have something to say about it. And those people, I have something to say about them too. I mean: come on, let's not act like the holy bean here. This girl is studying, has already had a whole scandal because she was kissing a guy at Harvard (isn't that pretty normal at that age?!) and is for the first time since her father is no longer president not in the spotlight. Do we really need to make a big deal out of this now?

The nice thing about the story is that Chelsea Clinton and Jenna Bush Hager (yes, the daughters of former presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush) are standing up for Malia. ‘Malia Obama is a private person and should be left alone. No part of her life should be a sensational story,’ Chelsea writes on Twitter. Jenna adds: ‘I hesitated to say anything because it was such a meaningless article, but I completely agree with Chelsea Clinton. Please do not click on these kinds of stories and give her privacy.’

Malia, we all have spring fever, darling, I would say: have another one. Cheers.
