Caramba: Lidl sells sugar-free candies and chips

Imagine the supermarket, but in about ten years. Candies without sugar, some crickets for crunch over a salad, and a burger made from carrot and tomato. Lidl is going to do it now and that's why they selected FavorFlavs Sharon some favorites for you.
You won't find superfood (read: insects) and seaweed wraps among the Silver Crest kitchen appliances and the frozen bread at Lidl supermarket every day. Starting June 27, you will. For a week. This is for their theme week ‘Future Goods’.
Exactly a year ago, the supermarket Lidl made a call: pitch your most sustainable, healthiest, or most innovative idea to us. The winners of this pitch will have their own product in all Lidl stores in the Netherlands for a week. Together with StartLife, Lidl is trying to provide innovative companies with a platform in this way.
Our favorites
We tasted a few things in advance and share our five editorial favorites, so you know right away what you need to get on Thursday.
Vegan ice cream from Gigi Gelato
Italian ice cream, made from fruit and vegetables. Gigi comes in three flavors (strawberry + blueberries + beet, mango + passion fruit + fennel, orange + ginger + carrot) and believe us when we say that all three are addictively delicious. Make room in your freezer for this coolest kid in town!
Carrot and tomato burger from Farmer&Foodie
Sink your teeth into this veggie burger and you'll understand our enthusiasm. Good bite, nice flavor, and hello: it's healthy too. Winning!
Flavored insects from Little Hero
Superfoods in the form of edible insects. No, don't start squeaking right away, the small, crunchy mealworms from Little Hero are delicious over a salad. And what about crispy crickets with BBQ flavor? They're protein bombs and you don't even have to go into the woods to catch them. We're sold!
Sugar-free snacks from Food2smile
The popped soy chips and sugar-free candies from Food2smile are designed to combat obesity and overweight. Finally, something we can snack on guilt-free all the way through traffic.
Fruit and nut bar Banabar
Admittedly: we first had a huge laugh about this name. Don't understand why? Just look up the meaning of ‘bana’ in the street slang dictionary. No worries: further, this fruit and nut bar has nothing to do with that, it owes its name to the base of dried banana. In other words: after this, you'll have energy for ten, perfect for before or after exercising.
Found your favorite? Stock up well, because if the product is successful, Lidl promises that it will stay in the assortment longer.
