Carolien is bragging a bit

Carolien spoor bragging

The past two years I actually never had a huge problem with homesickness. Of course, I miss Otis (and let's not forget my husband) when I'm not around him, but with a little video call, my biggest hunger was satisfied again. But suddenly I felt tears coming up this time when I stepped onto the plane, and that actually didn't go away for three days. Just when I thought my ‘mother weakness’ couldn't grow any further…

‘Yeah, that guy who plays Jafar is a really good friend of ours.’ It slips out before I realize it. Normally, I find it quite embarrassing when someone brags about their famous circle of acquaintances, but in this case, it’s really very cool: our best friend Marwan is playing f*ing Jafar in f*ing Aladdin. I understand the comments that Disney chose a ‘too handsome and too young’ Jafar, but director Guy Ritchie is known for adapting films of well-known stories to his own style (and that's why he's so good). I’m also sure that Marwan portrays this role so convincingly that everyone will get those same creepy and bad guy feelings as with the animated version. I can't wait to check him out in the cinema, and I will undoubtedly mumble a few more times that Jafar is just sitting at our kitchen table during the week. #proud

Meanwhile, our breastfeeding shawl brand Lemej has been around for over half a year, and I find it beautiful to see that we have already made so many mothers happy with our breastfeeding shawls. For the upcoming summer, we are launching two limited summer editions: two awesome new leopard prints made of 100% cotton, making the shawl perfect for the warm summer months. We just shot the images, and where better to share a very exclusive preview than on Amayzine?

For a while, I had been toying with the thought: ‘Should I just switch to Android?’ My iPhone had been acting up continuously for the past few months, I was really annoyed by the photo quality, and the cool new features were also missing in the last editions… So I took a leap into the deep end and switched to a Samsung S10 Plus. During the transfer, I had a bit of clammy hands, but it actually went quite smoothly from the iPhone. And when I saw all the camera features (no less than five built-in cameras), I was sold: I don’t need to take an extra camera anymore because these results are really incredibly good. And every day I learn new features: with Bixby camera, you can scan your surroundings, and it shows you on your screen where you can find cool restaurants, hotels, and shops nearby. Furthermore, with the same function, I can scan foreign text, and it translates it directly into Dutch, and I can now pay everywhere with my phone via Samsung Pay. Give me a week and I’ll have Jon ready to take a step towards ‘the future’ too.
