Honestly: why Nairobi from La Casa de Papel is your spirit animal

The persuasive power with which she speaks. That articulation. That rolling ‘r’ and soft ‘s’. I can be quite brief about it: this señora is badass. And I swear – spoiler alert 3,2,1 goodbye – if she doesn't survive that attack from that bitch with the lollipop, I will throw my TV out the window. This is why we are all fans of Nairobi.
She is a hard worker
If you're going to rob a bank, you better have this girl by your side. Nairobi is a true pro. She works hard. Never complains. She’s down there burning just as hard as the hostages in that basement to melt that gold.
Oh man: the mujer has charisma
Thanks to her, you want to learn Spanish. If I ever look for a motivational speaker, I would much rather have Nairobi than Arturo Román. You just want her to have that money.
She is the queen of the money
There she is, with her jet-black hair in that red suit shouting at those money machines. ‘2.4 billion chicosARRRRRIBA ARRIBA!’ In season 1, a hostage himself says he has never worked for such a good boss. Quite impressive.
She holds her own
She may seem like one of the guys, but she is razor-sharp when a sexist remark is thrown at her. ‘Cállate, cabrón. The only thing that’s going to be tight is the skin around your balls. We women can last for hours, not just a few seconds.’ There. Stick that in your, uh, pocket.
She is real
I can imagine that this is the type of friend who doesn't gossip. If she doesn't like something, she just tells you. She is straightforward with you and your most honest mirror ever.
She is sensitive meets tough
She'll kick your ass if necessary, but is actually a soft-boiled egg and it's exactly that combination that we like. And aaaah, then also in love with Helsi, who falls for men. Ah, girl. It’s not easy, friend.
She is just, well, stable in a group of power-hungry idiots.
While Tokyo is becoming a bit of the impulsive crazy one of the series, Nairobi remains her stable self. When Berlín lost control, she stepped in. She takes the lead when necessary, but also takes a step back when everything is under control.
I tell you: screw Palermo, super fun, that Tokyo as a voice-over, and people suddenly calling themselves ‘Lisboa’, but there is only one real señora the real right hand of El Professor and that is Nairobi. Heart. Love. Everything.
