In 8 steps the most delicious charcuterie board

antipasti board

We like our charcuterie board big, with plenty and including ample supply. Ten types of ham, eight types of cheese, bread with eighty toppings, that kind of thing. Give us a board with antipasti and we are in heaven. That's why we take a look at our neighbors from FavorFlav how we can best put that together.

1. Choose the meats

Choose two or three different types of meats, such as serrano ham, mortadella, or prosciutto. Here you can read how to choose the right meats for the charcuterie. Think about 55 grams per person. Unless you are serving prosciutto: from experience, I can tell you that people just keep eating that, so stock up.

2. Select the cheese

Choose two or three soft cheeses like mozzarella, burrata, or goat cheese, and also two or three aged cheeses like Parmigiano Reggiano or provolone. Again, count on about 55 grams per person. Place a few knives next to the cheeses and cut a few pieces in advance so that people know how to slice it.

3. Dress the board

The next step is garnishing to complement your cheeses and meats. Serve figs, put honey in a bowl for dipping, and choose other sweet spreads that go well with the rest of the delicacies.

4. Add color

Add colorful fruits and vegetables like olives, sun-dried tomatoes, or eggplant. Or go for fruit if you feel like a sweeter board. Think of grapes, pear, or orange slices.

5. Bread on the side?

What are antipasti without bread? This allows people to create their personal bruschetta. And for a crunchy bonus: add breadsticks so guests can wrap their meats around them.

6. Make it look nice

Make sure your board looks nice and tidy. A wooden board is preferred, so everyone can cut and chop on the board without worrying about damaging a nice dish. But a large beautiful plate is also fine. It depends a bit on the occasion. For a gathering, I would go for a simple, but especially full board.

7. Relax (but keep refilling)

Make sure you can relax yourself once everything is on the table. By preparing refills in advance before people start eating, you ensure that you have enough on hand for when people are extra hungry.

8. Eat!

The best part: eating the antipasti. Be an example for your guests by combining different bites together. That certainly doesn't seem like a punishment to do.
