Je hebt een vriend

Because you might have accidentally missed a magazine: this is one of our favorite articles that you want to dive into. Fire on, warm cocoa in a mug or a bubbly in the glass (that’s fine too) and just enjoy reading.

Peggy Weijergang was the first fashion editor of Elle in the Netherlands, and she still advises people on taste and style. Loes Slokkers graduated from art school and now decorates homes and businesses.

“Once I dated Harre, but that was short-lived. However, we remained friends and it was completely normal for me to meet his new girlfriend, Loes. The two of us, we were immediately totally okay. What I find so beautiful to see is that Loes was still Loesje back then. She had studied, lived abroad too, but still, she was more the woman of Harre. Over the years, she has developed her taste and talents so much that she is the hardest working and most successful of all my girlfriends. She decorates homes of wealthy people and gives interior advice to large companies. Truly amazing.”

“Almost from the very first moment, Peggy bought clothes for me. I believe it started with a jacket from Armani that she wore but no longer wanted.

Peggy was the fashion editor of ELLE and traveled a lot for her work. ‘If you see something, just buy it for me,’ I would say. Blindly, because back then you couldn't consult via WhatsApp. To this day, she still does that.”

“It’s not like we call each other every day and share everything. Our friendship doesn’t need that at all. Loes and I can also go a while without speaking or seeing each other and then immediately pick up where we left off. Loes can immediately see how I am. One glance is enough. We can really do everything together. When we travel, we sleep peacefully in one room.”

Loes

“I have a fear of germs, so if the room isn’t very tidy, I say: “I’ll just lie on Peggy.” When Gerard passed away (Gerard Fagel, head of restaurant De Hoefslag was Peggy's beloved and was murdered in bed during a robbery while Peggy was lying next to him, MM) Peggy even lived with us in the garden house for a while.’

“Loes has some small quirks that I can handle very well. Nothing is more boring than those semi-perfect types. Loes likes to sit by the window in the airplane and looks uninterrupted outside for the entire flight. She says she has a fear of germs. She also does something complicated with counting the numbers on license plates, but a. she doesn’t bother anyone with it, b. it’s far from concerning, and c. I actually find it quite funny.”
