March, I'm done with you

Yes darlings, my mood is also influenced by this annoying weather. The above photo was taken two weeks ago. The sun was shining, the spring vibes were popping up, we could go outside without a thick winter coat and we massively parked our cadets on the terrace. But now. Don’t know what the beep happened, but March is literally wagging its tail. Look, cold: fine, but that biting WIND combined with those thick drops: geeeetver the getver.

It's time for an SOS-March guide. How do you make sure you hold on to those nice spring vibes from last time? Like this.

Whatever you do: don’t dress according to the weather

Reverse psychology always works best for me. Is the day grayer than gray? Go to the office in a bright yellow sweater. Right now. We often associate warm colors with passion, joy, emotion, strength, and energy. Put on your happy shoes (yes, those silver boots or those candy pink sneakers), gloss on your lips and go with that pineapple. Screw that banana!

Just saying: get our new spring/summer magazine in your home...

Yes sorry, but it’s just shining fresh on the shelf and if that doesn’t give you summer vibes, I don’t know what will. I spontaneously feel like buying bikinis. Sunglasses. Booking plane tickets. Everything. It’s now available at your bookstore and the Appie Heijn. I say: run.

Spend time outdoors

Preferably as early as possible, in the first daylight if possible. The light in the morning contains relatively much blue and blue light inhibits the production of melatonin (the hormone that makes you sleepy). This really wakes you up and reduces your March dip.

Make sure you have something to look forward to

Promise yourself to really buy that beautiful bag for yourself in a few days that you just can’t get out of your head, book in advance that ticket to Cape Town to visit that friend or surprise your love with a spontaneous few nights away. In any case, ensure anticipation for something.

And believe me: soon you’ll be melting away with red cheeks like a toastie on the terrace. Four days until spring, girlfriends. And hey, am I reading that it’s going to be 17 degrees on Tuesday?! HOORAY!
