Men only truly becomes an adult at the age of 54

They say: ‘age is only a number’, but that is definitely not true.

Age says more than you think.

Research shows that men only truly become adults around the age of 54. They want to settle down, have some peace of mind, and no longer chase after, uh, their penis. They are ready for commitment, for stability, rhythm, and routine. For true love. But yes. That is quite different from the adult age we normally have in mind: 18 years. You know. That day when you can go get your driver's license and officially drink beer in the pub. Then you feel very old and wise and cool. Yet, a guy needs a bit more patience. more patience.

How is it that most men only become adults around that age? It is primarily because men are becoming fathers later. Fathers are on average 34.2 years old when they have a child, according to CBS in the Netherlands.. Since 1996, this age has increased by more than a year. And so everything shifts for the average man: the years in which they really have to hustle at work, make a career, travel the world, raise children seriously, or fight for their partner: it just takes a while. Moreover, they like to take their time. In their younger years, they mainly enjoy football, beer, and friends. Plus: they think nicely about themselves. Nice and straightforward. Football. Beer. Friends. Themselves. And on we go.

Women, according to psychologists, are already a bit more mature: on average around their 23rd. Not 18 either, but well, women are just a bit quicker to be ready. For children, that house with a garden, a dog, cat, rabbit. And they also have a desire for a humidifier in the house and a collection of vases at a somewhat earlier age because ‘you never know what kind of flowers you might get as a gift.’ I find that very mature. By the way, I have quite a few vases at home. And I received a humidifier as a gift. But I am also already well over 30. So it’s allowed.
