Not one or two, but five new
horror hits

an actress from a new netflix horror movie

Horror movies, I love them. When I watched The Dentist as an eleven-year-old, I was somewhat traumatized (I still can't watch that movie), but my love for horror films has remained. So I absolutely have no problem with Netflix having such a fondness for horror. In itself, those way too bad movies (like all the Final Destination films, which I think will go on forever) are always entertaining; after Hereditary, I had to keep that light on. Now I can soon light up my whole house non-stop, as Netflix has announced five horror series and films.

They are announcing them all at once, with one trailer. Fun: they named that trailer Netflix & Chills. That they are only now coming up with that pun, I think it's fun. Besides those five new ones, we also see an old acquaintance that will soon be available on Netflix: Scream 2. Hellooooo Sydney. Well, I'm going to quickly go through all five films, so you immediately know if you want to watch them or not. I see a few promising ones in between and one that you can skip as far as I'm concerned. It's definitely a nice change from the sickly sweet romcoms we've mostly been treated to lately.

In The Shadow Of The Moon (Sept 27). A detective becomes obsessed with a ‘mysterious’ female serial killer. Bloody, but also thrilling. So it falls a bit into the thriller category, so if you're not into slasher films, this is a good option for you.

In The Tall Grass (Oct 4). Adaptation of the book by Stephen King. I always find his books pretty mediocre, but his films are often quite fun. A twin is taking a trip to the countryside and hears a cry for help coming from the tall grass. They go investigate, and of course, it ends badly. Nature leading its own life is not really my cup of tea; so I'm skipping this one.

Fractured (Oct 11). Yesss, this one seems really fun to me. A man loses his daughter and wife in the emergency room. And I mean literally lost, they have disappeared without a trace. He suspects the hospital of their disappearance and starts his own investigation. I think this one will be thrilling, bloody, and that light will indeed stay on after watching this film.

Eli (Oct 18). This one is also on my to-watch list, and this one will also keep the light on. I have always had a weakness for films where people seem to be possessed or films with evil children. Yes, this seems to be a combination of both. An eleven-year-old boy is put in isolation by his parents and undergoes experimental therapy. If you pay close attention in the trailer, you can see that a surgery (or well, they are drilling into his skull, very pleasant) is taking place. Grim. You have my attention.

Rattlesnake (Oct 25). Um, well, this one is not for me. A film that revolves around snake bites. I liked Snakes On A Plane because it was so bad it was good; this one seems to be like that too, but in an unpleasant way. But if this is your genre: a girl gets bitten by a deadly rattlesnake and is rescued at the last minute. But apparently, there is a price to pay for that. Dumdumdummm.
