Oh yes, this will be the Netflix successor to Undercover

Come on, this was of course a matter of time. As Het Goede Doel has long known, the answer to so many questions is: Belgium. A place among the stars, where you can go. And you're welcome, that song will not leave your head for a while. But after the huge success of Undercover this is a logical step. The very first Belgian Netflix series is a fact. Or well, it will be a fact. It has just been announced. Into The Night is going to be your new addiction.

As we have come to expect, Netflix goes straight for the big work and has snagged Jason George as writer, showrunner, and executive producer. No, that name doesn't mean much to me either, but we all know his flagship. This is the man behind Narcos. As I said: not the least.

Then the plot. It will be an exciting series and for me personally even more so. For those of you who, like me, have a fear of flying: this will be nightmare material. The series takes place on board a plane from Brussels during a night flight. Panic breaks out, as there is a cosmic disaster (sounds intense, right? It is). Their biggest enemy is the sun, which destroys everything in its path. The plane heads west (to avoid that sunrise) as an escape. Dumdumdummmm. Drumroll. The rest will have to guess for a while, but it seems that everything on board is anything but fun.

Despite my fear of flying that, I am intensely fascinated by everything related to airplanes and have seen almost all episodes of Air Crash Investigation. So this series fits, as I read it, perfectly in my alley. Not such a fan of the Belgian accent? Maybe French, German, Italian, Polish, or Russian suits you better, as those are the nationalities we also encounter on board. Aye aye, captain.
