Proven: we find men with a beard wildly attractive

attractive men with beards

We have to deal with two camps here on the editorial staff. There are some women who appreciate a beard from time to time and the rest start squealing at the slightest millimetre of facial hair. You can already tell by my ‘squealing’ which club I belong to. From me, the man can have a beard, preferably one of three-days-plus. Without is fine too, but chances are I'll take an extra look with beard. I'm just being honest.

So get this: ‘Yes, but suppose he shaves off that beard and there's a completely different man underneath.‘ This is overthinking the beard. It seems unlikely to me that the man you have suddenly turns out to be another without it, but don't hang me on it. It is preventable by the way, you just have to make him giving the best beard trimmer on earth and ensure that any thought of bare-bottom face is nipped in the bud. Don't suddenly have another man either.

Because research shows that women like men with beards. I'm not alone, I'm not alone. What the researchers did? They took 8,500 women (that's a nice cross-section I thought) and asked them to rate the shaved man, the man with the medium-light beard and the one with the full firm beard. From the test came, in order of how we like them best: the one about 10 days after shaving, followed by the full beard and finally the bald chin. In ALL cases, that is 8500 times, the women found the men more handsome with beard.

Ha. Proven so. Why is it so? It seems to be that we can tell by a beard how social and dominant a man is. Whatever the reason, here are some fine men with beards to start your Monday with.
