Sorry guys but the ‘man flu’ really doesn't exist

After a twin pregnancypregnancy, a cesarean section and a considerable post-delivery aftermath, I can say that my body has endured quite a bit this year.
But yes, when a man has to cough once, the earth crumbles, the sky comes down, and there’s no reason to ever get out of bed again. The oh so well-known man flu syndrome. Earlier, it was reported that men would suffer more from a cold because female hormones can better handle the effects of a virus. But this seems to be somewhat exaggerated. A bit exaggerated. The only thing that has been checked is that women have a more active immune system than men. Nu.nl reports that researchers say: ‘The female sex hormone estrogen would support the immune system, while the male sex hormone testosterone would suppress immune responses. Studies on isolated cells have indeed found that estrogen protects against infections.’
Okay. That’s an advantage for women. But come on, that doesn’t change the fact that we women can also suffer from the flu. And men too. But they feel just as nauseous and have just as much headache as we do. There’s no team that is more pathetic. But they are not worse off than we are. It should be clear.
