Speaking of role models

So your father works on the railway and tells you that you can become two things later: a mother and a housewife. Or you live in India and there is actually no money for your education. Or you are a model but find out that you would much rather be behind the stove than in front of the cameras.
These three women did it. They cycled against the wind, decided to push when pulling didn’t help, put a big black cross through the word ‘no’ in their dictionary and pushed through. Up they went.
Anny Divya took this literally, because she is theyoungest female pilot in the world who flew a Boeing 777 into the sky. With herself at the controls. She already knew she wanted to fly before she had ever been on a plane. She was so determined – ‘Mum, I just wanna fly’ – that her father invested a lot of money in a private education. And not for nothing. Captain Anny rules the world. And the airspace. Respect.
For Ulla Holthoff, there were no big dreams and jobs waiting if it was up to her parents. Just become a mother, then you are already enough, was the motto. Their own daughter thought a little differently about that. What is the best job if you have an overdose of curiosity? Exactly, then you become a journalist. And it seemed even more fun to tread in a male-dominated area. Football then. Ulla is the first female football commentator on German radio, a career woman and oh yes, she also became a mother. Of a footballer. That could not be otherwise.
The third woman who makes a difference is Dalad Kambhu who jumped from Texas (birthplace) to Bangkok (growing up region) and then bounced back to New York where she worked as a model. Because it was sometimes quiet between assignments, she worked in restaurants and there she discovered where her heart really lay. In the kitchen and not in the studio or on the catwalk. This led to her own restaurant Kin Dee in… Berlin. Because Dalad does not let herself be guided by the borders of a country. The world is hers and in her world, she cooks the stars out of the sky. Her ideal is to nourish women with strength and to show that there is a place for us in this world, which is partly dominated by men. When she received a Michelin star for her culinary skills, it was the tiara on the labor, or the crown on the work.
The reason I tell you about these women is that fashion brand Marc Cain has found these three women. Their clothing serves many purposes, but one of the most important is to make us feel strong. To help achieve what is written on our goal list, to shape from the outside who we are on the inside. That’s why they have #MmysteriousWwomen campaign born and I find it beautiful. Just like their clothing, but you already knew that.
